  I hadn't attended a church for years....ok, decades. When I came to a point I wanted a 'modern' and open church community that would take in a 'heretic' like me, I checked out several places and found Horizon to be, by far, the most comfortable and friendly place. And now that it is expanding its building, it will be even better and have more to offer.
  Lots to offer here - deep theological and philosophical education for all ages, serious social action and works toward a better world, and wonderful community of great people. And insightful and entertaining Sunday services, too!
  Highly recommend it!

  I have been coming to Horizon ever since I moved to Texas when I was 3 years old, and it was the first place where I ever felt like a part of the community. Everybody is warm and welcoming, and it's easy to strike up a conversation. I also feel I have grown as a person by coming here, in that this church has helped me to grow up on an ever-growing search for my own personal truth, and shown that we need not think alike to love alike. If you want to be among a community of people who share in the ideals of compassion and equality, come to Horizon.

  I've been attending this church for 5 years, and been an active member for 4. It was a wonderful place when I was divorced and recently moved back to the area, and it is still wonderful for myself, my fiance, and our combined family. There really is enough going on that anyone can find a ministry or group to get involved in.
  If you don't know what it means for a Church to be Unitarian Universalist, it takes some getting used to. They are very open and accepting, and you will see many different types of people sharing the community. You will not hear anyone telling you what to believe in, though we do have a very progressive outlook. We build houses, feed third-world villages, and work for human rights causes as well as ecological stewardship as part of our general mission to serve our community and the world.

  This church offers something for everyone. Like any place run by humans, they are not perfect, but they try.
